Today’s Close-up: Bridal Makeup! Lisa Got Married–Woot Woot!

As a former makeup artist for Bobbi Brown cosmetics, I have always cherished every opportunity given to me where I can transform a woman into looking and feeling her best just because I was able to enhance her natural beauty with a touch of strategically selected makeup products, shades, and placement of such on her face.  The wonderful privilege of doing a woman’s bridal makeup for one of her most memorable and significant days in her life, and when the bride is an actual friend makes the whole makeup artistry process even more meaningful and special to me!  I was honored to be a part of my friend Lisa’s wedding this past weekend by being asked to do her bridal makeup as well as her bridesmaids!

Here are my gorgeous friends:

From left to right are Brynne, Heather, Lisa (the bride-to-be!), Gina, Leslie, and Nicole.

Soon-to-be brides should check out Lisa’s close-up to get ideas and suggestions for their upcoming wedding day.  This bridal look is a simple, natural, but radiant makeup application that shows off the bride’s true beauty instead of masking it behind a ton of unnecessary colors and products on her face.  In addition to being a perfect bridal look, this close-up would be fantastic for anyone interested in a feminine, soft, and warm color palette for everyday!

Here is Lisa’s close-up-

On Lisa’s face:

  • Alima Pure Satin Matte Foundation in a 50-50 Blend of Warm 3 & Golden 4 used with a bareMinerals Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush underneath her eyes and around her nose, mouth, and on very small areas of redness on her cheeks
  • Jane Iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation SPF 20 in Caramel brushed all over her face
  • Chanel Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in Desert Corail lightly brushed on her cheeks, forehead, nose, chin, jawline, and down her neck
  • Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot on her cheeks
  • Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Pink used as a highlighter on the top of her cheekbones

On Lisa’s eyes:

  • Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Wet/Dry Shadow in Gold Rush all over her eyelid
  • Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Wet/Dry Shadow in Bronzinger applied from her lashline to just above her crease
  • Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Rich Brown lightly brushed onto her outer corners of her eyes and then blended onto her lid for more depth
  • Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Espresso Ink applied to both her top and bottom lashlines with the Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush
  • Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume Waterproof Mascara in Black on her top and bottom lashes, followed with an application of false lashes (brand and style unknown)
  • Models Prefer Automatic Eyebrow Pencil and Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel on her eyebrows

On Lisa’s lips:

  • Bobbi Brown Lip Liner in Tawny (discontinued shade) lightly defined her lips
  • MAC Lipstick Satin in Spirit applied with a lip brush all over her lips
  • E.L.F. Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 in Honey Do (I think–the shade is a shimmery peachy rose)

Today’s Close-up!

For those of you needing fresh ideas on makeup looks or you’re just curious about what I’m wearing on my face, here is today’s close-up:

I’m playing on my sister, Joyce’s new Mac Book Pro and using her Photo Book application as well as a traditional digital camera to take photos of my close-up.  The colors are coming out differently, but I thought it would be interesting for you to see the differences.

On my face:

  • Laura Mercier Mineral Powder SPF 15 in a 50-50 blend of Rich Vanilla and Pure Honey all over the face as my foundation
  • L’oreal Infallible Never Fail Concealer in Light Medium underneath the eyes
  • BareMinerals Multi-Tasking Face Concealer in SPF 20 Summer Bisque around the mouth area, the nostrils to cover redness, and underneath my eyes to set the L’oreal concealer
  • Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer in SX 08 on top of old pimple scars and discoloration on my chin area
  • Chanel Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in Desert Corail lightly swept on cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin
  • Nars Blush in Deep Throat on cheeks

On my eyes:

  • Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Birthday Suit all over the eyelid as a base
  • Maybelline Cool Effect Cooling Shadow/Liner in On the Rocks #37 applied from the top lashline to the middle of my eyelid where my crease would be and also lined underneath on the lower lashline, smudged with my fingers on the eyelid as well for a smokier look
  • L’oreal HiP High Intensity Pigments Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Brown applied on the top lashline using my Bobbi Brown Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush
  • Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner in Espresso #60 lining the rim/water line of my eyes
  • Shiseido Nourishing Mascara Base and Maybelline Define-A-Lash Volume Waterproof Mascara in Black on my lashes
  • Models Prefer Automatic Eyebrow Pencil and Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel on my eyebrows

On my lips:

  • Pixi Lip Blush in No.2 Purity lightly applied as a lip stain base
  • Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Spotlight Beige all over as my lip color

What do you think of today’s close-up?  Is there a certain makeup look that you would like me to do a close-up on?  I would love to hear your thoughts!
